Our Industrial Steel Fabrication Facility
Our fabrication capabilities are housed within a facility spanning over 3,000 square metres, divided into three specialised sections, each designed for optimal workflow and heavy-duty steel handling.
Fabrication Bays and Cranes
- Old Section: 450 m² with a 2-ton overhead crane
- Second Section: 560 m² with a 5-ton overhead crane
- New Section (2009): 2,060 m² with two 5-ton overhead cranes for improved material flow and assembly efficiency
These overhead cranes ensure the safe and fast handling of large steel components throughout the fabrication process, reducing lead times and enhancing safety.
Advanced Fabrication Equipment

Cutting and Sawing
Two horizontal band saw machines:
- One with 400 mm cutting width at 90°
- One capable of mitre cutting beams up to 700 mm wide at angles of 60° backward and 45° forward
Punching and Shearing</h3.
- 80-ton punching and cropping machine
- 30 mm diameter punching capacity through 20 mm thick steel plates
- Suitable for cropping angles and flat bar sections
Guillotining
- 3,000 mm guillotine for cutting steel plates up to 10 mm thick
Plate Bending
- 200-ton hydraulic press brake
- Capable of bending steel plates up to 10 mm
- Used for fabricating steel gutters and various custom plate work
Profile Cutting
- 12 m x 2.4 m CNC (computer numerical control) profile cutter
- Cuts steel plate up to 50 mm thick
- Enables in-house precision plate cutting, improving turnaround time and quality control
Precision From Workshop to Site
At Elpee’s Steelworks , every stage of our industrial steel fabrication process is carefully planned and executed with precision. We use Strucad software for detailed structural steel drawings and workshop fabrication documentation. Where possible, we pre-assemble components in the factory to ensure smooth, error-free erection on site.

Our Steel Fabrication Factory Consists Of The Following Equipment And Capabilities
The old section of the factory is 450 m² with a two ton capacity overhead crane.
The second section is approximately 560 m² and has a 5 ton overhead crane capacity
The latest new section built from June 2009 to December 2009 expanded the existing factory with 2060 square meters (width = 28.6 m and length = 72 m) with two (x2) five ton overhead cranes installed for material handling within the factory
We have two horizontal band saw machines installed. The first machine has a maximum of 400mm cutting width at 90 degrees,
The second band saw machine is used to mitre cut big universal beams, castellated and cellular beams, the machine has a capacity of cutting beams of 700 mm in width, also mitre cutting at 60 degrees backwards and 45 degrees forward.
An 80 ton punching and shear cropping machine is used to do all the hole punching and cropping of all angles and flat products. This machine has a punching capacity of 30mm diameter through a 20mm plate.
All steel plates up to 10mm thick are guillotined with a 3000mm guillotine.
Our 200 ton hydraulic press brake enables us to bend all plates up to 10mm thick. Manufacturing of steel gutters and various types of plate work can also be done with this machine.
Our latest edition to the factory is a 12 m x 2.4 m cutting bed profile cutter with a 50mm plate thickness capability enabling us to cut our own plate in house
Elpee’s Steelworks strives to eliminate all possible faults that could cause any delay during erection. This is achieved by careful workshop drawing preparation and where possible the structure will be pre-assembled in the factory before erection
